Welcome to P.S. 182 – The Bilingual Bicultural School

P.S. 182, The Bilingual Bicultural School (BBMS), is a choice school open to all families across New York City. Students do not need to reside in District 4 to attend, families from any borough are welcome to apply and join our vibrant learning community.

At BBMS, there is no testing requirement for admission. Families simply apply, and students are welcomed into our program.

At BBMS, we proudly offer a 50/50 Dual Language Program in Spanish and English, where students develop strong academic skills in both languages. Our program is designed to support all learners, and students do not need prior Spanish knowledge to enroll. Whether your child is new to the language or already bilingual, our classrooms provide the support and structure needed for success.

We serve students from 3K through 5th grade, providing a strong educational foundation from early childhood through elementary school. In addition, we offer open enrollment throughout the year, allowing families flexibility when joining our school community.

Our school is built on a commitment to academic excellence, cultural inclusivity, and the development of the whole child. Through engaging instruction, social-emotional learning, and meaningful partnerships, we strive to create a nurturing environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered.

At BBMS, students are happy and excited to come to school each day. We believe that learning should be both meaningful and joyful, and we create opportunities for students to engage in enriching and fun experiences. Our school provides educational trips that extend classroom learning, as well as enjoyable activities such as visits to the movies, the zoo, and bowling trips.

To further promote a positive school culture and strong attendance, we offer special events and incentives such as Fun Fridays, student giveaways, popsicles and ice cream treats, and school-wide dance parties. These experiences help foster a sense of community, belonging, and excitement for learning.
