Vision

Our students will become lifelong learners, creative thinkers and productive citizens who will advocate for equity and accessibility and make positive contributions to a global society.

Mission

We will develop a school that is highly regarded for its dedication to equity and accessibility, attention to technology, and contributions for developing strong communities. We will do this by engaging students in rigorous learning opportunities that provide entry points to learning and accessibility to resources. We will ensure to foster a supportive learning environment where students are safe and advocate for equity and accessibility as a tool to foster academic, social and emotional growth.

School Goals

Bilingual Bicultural Mini School/PS 182 Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) Goals for 2025-2026

 

Priority 1: All students learn to read well

By June 2026, literacy skills for students in grades 3-5 will increase by 10% from 62.33% to 72.33% as measured against the 2025 ELA Constructed Response (All) Writing to Sources.

 

Priority 2: All students are physically and emotionally safe

By June 2026, level 3 infractions will decrease by at least 10% as measured by OORS data; Level 3 infractions will decrease from 34.78% to at least 24.78%.

 

Priority 3: All students have a high-quality academic experience

By June 2026, through High Quality Instruction (HQI), there will be an overall increase of at least 10% in New York State Math Proficiency, thus increasing from 67% to 77%.

 

Priority 4: All students graduate college and career ready and have a strong plan and pathway to economic security

By June 2026, there will be an increase of at least 13% (from 82% to 95%) in parent and student voice within the IEP design as measured by the CEP Rubric designed by the School Implementation Team.

 

Priority 5: All districts and schools are more inclusive and responsive for parents and families, including having more families choose NYC Public Schools

By June 2026, there will be an overall 20% increase of family participation from 125 parents to at least 190 parents as measured against the 2026 New York City Survey Results for Parent Involvement in schools.

 

Attendance/Chronic Absenteeism

By June 2026, there will be an increase in the year-to-date attendance percentage for Students in Temporary Housing (STH) of 10%, from 86% to 96%, as measured by the New Visions Attendance Report: Students in Temporary Housing.

 

High Quality Inclusive & Accessible Learning for Students with Disabilities

By June 2026, to strengthen the quality and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for Students with Disabilities (SWD), we will improve student performance in mathematics by a 10.0% increase, from 44.4% to 54.4%, as measured by New York State Mathematics Assessment.
